Wedad

(Health Visitor)

Hello, I’m Wedad,

I am a qualified Health Visitor in London, and one of the areas I have been lucky to have an impact on is infant feeding, as it is one of the ways I am able to support parents and families give their babies the best start to life. Before I became a health visitor, I trained and worked as a Gynaecology nurse.  My passion for Women’s Health came from my nursing experience, and I have been a registered Nurse and Health visitor for over 5 years. Outside of this, I am a mother who breastfed and also faced some challenges, and so I would be able to relate with some of your struggles whilst also recognising how rewarding breastfeeding can be.

I have recently completed the IBCLC course with Breastfeeding London in July 2024, which has significantly enhanced how I support parents who breastfeed with position and attachment, understand the factors that may impact breastfeeding, and empower them by using up to date evidenced-based research.

The IBCLC course will support me in meeting your family’s needs holistically, and plan your care according to your circumstance and preferences whilst offering emotional, practical, and informational assistance. I believe that encouraging a positive and non-judgmental environment is essential, as many parents face challenges and self-doubt during the transition into parenthood. I am a patient and understanding listener, and respect each feeding choice. I am open minded and understand the need to be flexible and adaptable as no two families are the same.

I look forward to meeting you, and supporting you in one of your most beautiful lifetime moments.

See you soon,

Wedad
